Ian Campbell is well known as one of the UK's most respected experts in obesity and weight loss management. He was awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours in 2009 for his service to healthcare.
He is a prominent campaigner for the prevention and treatment of obesity. Ian was founder and the first President of the National Obesity Forum. He now works with the leading charity Weight Concern, winners of the Best New Charity of the Year Award in 2002 - a charity which works to address both the physical and psychological health needs of overweight people.

Ian is an advisor on nutrition and obesity to numerous UK and international organisations. He is a tireless campaigner for reforms to the NHS and can be found leading campaigns and lecturing worldwide.
Ian appears regularly on television - he took part in 'The Biggest Loser' on ITV, presented 'A Matter of Fat' for Carlton and played an important role as Medical Consultant for the BBC 1 series 'Fat Nation,' ITV's 'Fat Chance' and BBC 3's 'Fat Teens Can't Hunt.' He appeared in 'The Indestructibles' on BBC 3, 'Tonight with Trevor McDonald' for ITV and 'Bodyshock' on Channel 4 - a startling program about the world's biggest boy in Russia.
Ian's first book is 'Obesity: Your Questions Answered' and he has contributed and written forewords to many others on the subject of obesity.
Believing weight management should be easily understood, pragmatic and accessible to everyone, Ian created Fat Man Slim - a weight loss programme encouraging men to make important lifestyle changes, to lose weight, reduce waist size and improve health.
Ian was introduced to the Diet Plate in 2004 by Kay Illingworth, Dr Ian Campbell became a firm fan of the product, saying "it is probably the most honest weight loss product he had ever evaluated," and being encouraged by the results he had seen with patients became the medical advisor to the company up until 2009. Ian continues to offer advice to the company and remains a firm advocate of the Diet Plate as an aid to weight loss and a healthy lifestyle.
